Nutrition!
The link between successful management and treatment of HIV/AIDS and nutrition is very strong. Supporting HIV treatment with an adequate and balanced diet enhances the effect of drug therapy and improves immune response. As part of the HAART protocol, clients are required to undergo nutritional counseling. The objective of this is to restore and promote quality productive health of our clients through prescriptions and advisement of good nutritional practice.
Due to our programmatic growth, there is promising relationships developing with other organizations to support our nutrition department with provisions of supplements and food assistance. As this area is developed, the nutrition department will be responsible for identifying patients who are clinically malnourished due to poverty, in cooperation with other staff assessments, so that food support can be made available for them.
Nutritional Services of the Hope Center are delivered through two types of appointments:
• Nutrition Screening
• Nutrition Followup
