Quick View at Industrial Area Hope Center!
In mid 2005 Coptic Hospital opened the Coptic Medical Center,
an outpatient clinic in the heart of the Industrial Area, Nairobi.
The industrial area truly lives up to its name with 30,000 factories
it employees hundreds of thousand of day laborers which come from the surrounding slums.
With the help of the Coptic Church the Coptic Medical Center is able to provide subsidized
rates for outpatient services and was able to join with many different factories to provide even
lower rates for there employees. But these services were limited and with no comprehensive HIV/AIDS
clinic at all in the industrial area Coptic Hospital then felt like more needed to be done.
So in July of 2006 Coptic Hope Center for infectious diseases opened its second daughter clinic, Coptic Hope Center Industrial Area. The Coptic Hope Center Industrial Area has a full staff to provide the same services and quality as its mother clinic. In only two short months the Coptic Hope Center Industrial Area has enrolled over 800 patients with over 450 of those patients on ARVs. Coptic Hope Center Industrial Area has also been playing a huge role in providing awareness training to the staff of these factories as well as community workers who deals on a day to day basis with those living in the slums.
